MPP (Metalized Polypropylene) Film Capacitors use a thin polypropylene film coated with a metal layer as the dielectric. This construction offers excellent electrical insulation, high efficiency, and a “self-healing” property — making them more reliable than traditional capacitor types.
MPP capacitors are compact, maintenance-free, and environmentally safer. They have
lower power losses, longer operational life, and better resistance to temperature and voltage
stress — all of which make them a superior modern alternative.
“Self-healing” means that if a small dielectric breakdown occurs inside the capacitor, the
thin metallized layer vaporizes locally, isolating the fault without affecting performance.
